Israel is a UN member state and implements UN sanctions via article 3 of the Prevention of Distribution and Financing of Weapons of Mass Destruction Law 2018. Israel only implements UN sanctions on parties that are “foreign” to Israel i.e. individuals and parties that have no linkage to Israel. The British Trading with the Enemy Ordinance 1939 was retained on the creation of Israel in 1948 and is still in force today, imposing a complete ban on trade with “enemy countries”.
