France is a UN and EU member state and implements UN and EU sanctions. Article L562-3 of the Monetary and Financial Code authorises the French government to freeze the assets of entities or persons sanctioned by the UN and EU. Article L151-2 of the Monetary and Financial Code allows France to implement autonomous sanctions in the form of restrictions of French investments and financial relations in foreign countries.
